What PicExplainer is
PicExplainer photographs a diagram, chart or figure and explains it aloud — built VoiceOver-first for blind and low-vision students.
It is a study aid, not a substitute for accessible course materials, qualified teaching, or safety-critical judgement. AI output can be wrong.

Common questions
Does it work with VoiceOver? PicExplainer is designed VoiceOver-first, including spoken camera guidance and accessibility labels. With VoiceOver on, results use your VoiceOver voice. If you meet a barrier, email us with the screen and device so we can fix it.
How accurate is it? PicExplainer uses AI, reports its confidence, and is instructed to flag unclear labels. It can still misread or invent details. Always verify important information with your teacher or textbook.
What happens to my figures? A submitted figure, its OCR text, your question, and recent conversation context can be sent to our AWS-hosted service and to OpenAI for off-device processing. OpenAI’s default API controls may retain inputs and outputs in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days. Our app does not add submissions to a reusable server-side diagram library; successful analyses you save live in the app on your device. The Privacy Policy has the full boundary.
Does PicExplainer track students? It does not track people across apps or websites. Purchase history, submitted content, a pseudonymous device identifier, and service-interaction counters are linked for App Functionality such as entitlements, free scans, and fair-use limits.
What happens if I reinstall? iOS may preserve the pseudonymous identifier in the Keychain, which allows service limits and access recovery on the same device — but that is not guaranteed after a device erase, Keychain reset, or signing change. Uninstalling removes the sandboxed saved-diagram library.
Subscriptions
PicExplainer Pro is an auto-renewing subscription bought through the App Store. Apple shows the exact local price, period, renewal date and any offer you are eligible for before you confirm. To cancel, open iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions → PicExplainer. Your saved on-device analyses remain readable after cancelling, for as long as they remain on that device. Apple handles refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
