Short version: they’re free, they’re already in Apple School Manager Apps and Books, and device-based assignment means your students never need accounts. Long version below, with Apple citations on every claim.
Verified against Apple’s documentation
Apple: “All apps on the App Store are automatically available for volume purchase for the same price in Apple Business and Apple School Manager.” That covers all six of our live apps, with no action needed from us or you. developer.apple.com
All six apps are free, so quantity costs nothing. Apple still requires a payment method on file: “You need to set up your payment method before you can obtain app licenses, even if they’re free.” Apple School Manager User Guide
Apple: with device-based app assignment “there’s no invitation process or requirement to use a Managed Apple Account or Apple Account on the device.” That pairs exactly with our no-accounts design. Apple Education Deployment Guide

Terminology note, because Apple renamed it: the accounts are called Managed Apple Accounts in Apple’s current documentation — and with device-based assignment of our apps, your students don’t need one at all.
The honesty block
Pricing: our apps are the same App Store price through Apple School Manager — free — and we make no claims about education discounts. Upgrades: optional Pro and Premium tiers are personal purchases shown in the App Store; we make no claims that they can be centrally purchased or assigned under device-based deployment. Billing mechanics: payment, quotes, and tax questions are handled inside Apple School Manager by Apple, not by us.
