Getting started

Pick a moment you have coming up, such as a job interview, a call with a landlord or your first day at work. Choose how it should feel: Gentle, Realistic or Tough. Then speak your part out loud. Your practice partner is an AI and waits for you: a pause never cuts you off.

  1. Choose a moment, or describe your own.
  2. Speak your answer. Tap Done or say “Done” when you have finished.
  3. Read the feedback: it quotes your own words and suggests one thing to try next time.
02

Rehearsing with the AI partner

The partner plays the other person, such as the interviewer, the doctor or the neighbour, and stays in that role. It never answers for you and never rushes you. To let it reply after a silence instead of waiting for Done, open Settings › Practice › Send after a silence.

If a reply is wrong or upsetting, report that line in the rehearsal. Only the partner's line is sent, never your words.

03

Gentle scenes and Clarity

Gentle scenes, Clarity sounds, your cue cards and saved lines work without the internet. They run on your phone. Live rehearsals with the AI partner need a connection.

04

Your plan

Free gives you one live rehearsal a week, today's 2 or 3 Clarity sounds, every Gentle scene and Level 1 of the daily path. Pro adds up to 12 rehearsals a week, all 45 sounds, every level of the daily path and your full history. See how Pro is billed and codes from a school or employer.

05

Your privacy

Your voice turns into words on your phone, and your audio is never sent. The words of a live rehearsal go to the AI partner only after you agree, and we don't keep them. To delete everything, open Settings › Privacy › Delete my data. Read the privacy policy.

Helplines

If you are in danger now, call your local emergency number. Hold the Floor is a practice tool, not a crisis service. If a rehearsal sounds like you may not be safe, the app stops and shows these numbers first.
