We’re here when you need a hand.
Hangar is a private place to rehearse everyday social moments. Here is how to reach us, manage a subscription, delete local data, and find urgent help outside the app.
Available on the App Store · last updated 2026-09-06.
What Hangar is
Hangar is a private place to rehearse everyday moments by voice or typing. Live conversation flights use generated character replies. Replays offer observations and possible interpretations; they do not reveal what a real person is thinking. It’s built for autistic and neurodivergent teens and the families around them — no scores, no streaks, and leaving a scene early is a valid choice.
Hangar is available on the App Store. It is a general-wellness practice tool — not therapy or a medical device — and does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional care.
About the 1.3 update. Hangar 1.2 is available on the App Store. The 1.3 update is still being tested and has not been released. Sections marked “1.3 update” describe behavior in that update and apply when you have that version.
1.3 update: everyday rehearsals and carry cards
Everyday Rehearsals use authored choices and responses that work offline. You can revisit a saved path, compare an alternative, or edit a carry card with words you want to take with you. Your goal, choices, wording, history and card stay on the device. Saving does not share anything; Share these lines opens the iOS share sheet with only the card’s visible lines.
Tomorrow’s Moment can keep private plans for upcoming situations. Its share flow shows a preview, lets you choose whether to include private details, and asks for your agreement before opening the share sheet. Recipients may keep their own copies.

If you need urgent help right now
Hangar is not a crisis service and cannot help in an emergency. If you or someone you’re with is in danger, please contact one of the services below. If there is immediate danger to life, call your local emergency number (911 in the US, 000 in Australia) now.
Free, confidential crisis support
- 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US) — call or text 988, or chat at 988lifeline.org. 24/7.
- Crisis Text Line — text HOME to 741741 (US). 24/7.
- The Trevor Project (LGBTQ+ young people, US) — call 1-866-488-7386, or visit thetrevorproject.org. 24/7.
- Kids Helpline (Australia, ages 5–25) — call 1800 55 1800, or visit kidshelpline.com.au. 24/7.
Subscriptions
Hangar is free to use for three flights each week across every authored rehearsal and safety feature. Hangar Premium is an optional auto-renewable subscription that lifts the weekly limit. Your current local price and any eligible trial are shown by Apple before you confirm. Apple bills and manages the subscription through your Apple Account; no safety feature sits behind the paywall.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings.
- Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Tap Hangar, then cancel or change the plan.
Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium continues until the end of the period already paid for. Apple handles refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com. On a new device, open Hangar’s paywall and choose Restore Purchases.
Premium also enables saving and updating Tomorrow’s Moment plans. In the 1.3 update, existing saved plans remain available to read and share after Premium ends; saving a new plan or updating one requires Premium. Rehearsal histories and carry cards remain available when the free practice allowance is used. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your local records. Restoring a purchase does not restore local practice data from another device.
Delete your local data
Open Settings inside Hangar, choose Clear my data, then confirm Yes — delete everything to remove local goals, saved plans, flights and the logbook. In the 1.3 update, this also removes offline rehearsal histories and carry cards, and Hangar returns to the start only after the deletion is saved. If that version says it couldn’t clear your data, stay in Settings and choose Try clearing again.
Deleting the app removes its local app data. Clearing data or deleting the app does not erase exported files, copies held by recipients, or existing device backups.
Your data
Hangar stores practice history on the device, with no account or Hangar cloud copy. Audio stays temporarily in memory while on-device transcription runs, then is discarded; it is not saved as a recording or uploaded. If transcription is cancelled while processing is already running, that take may remain in memory until processing finishes, and the cancelled result is not used. Live-flight text follows the consented AWS and OpenAI service flow. See the Privacy Policy for the exact information sent, retention, backups and service-limit details.
