SpeechSeed · Privacy
Privacy Policy
Your child’s voice stays on the device. Here is exactly what the app handles, what it never sends, and how to delete it.
Available on the App Store · last updated 2026-07-29.
Short version: speech recognition, practice history, profiles and recordings stay on the device. We cannot listen to them, retrieve them, or sell them, because the app does not send them to us. SpeechSeed has no account, advertising, analytics, trackers or audio uploads, and makes no runtime network calls of its own.
What we collect through SpeechSeed
None. The App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”. No voice recording, transcript, profile detail or practice record is sent to us.
What the app handles, and where
- Microphone audio. Used only while the listening ring glows, and processed on-device. The first clear or grown-up-confirmed attempt may become one saved clip for that session; clips stay local and a parent can delete them.
- Speech recognition. Apple’s on-device speech recognition checks prompted English words. SpeechSeed requires on-device recognition and does not send voice audio or transcripts to a server.
- Profiles and practice. A child’s name, age band, chosen sounds, sessions, results and progress are stored locally by the app and are not placed in an account or developer database. The local store and saved voice clips are explicitly excluded from device backups.
- Reports. PDF and text reports are generated on-device. Nothing is shared unless a grown-up chooses a destination in the iOS share sheet, after which that destination’s privacy terms apply.
- Reminders. Optional daily-practice and eligible-trial reminders are scheduled locally through Apple’s notification system when a grown-up allows notifications. We do not run a notification-marketing profile and do not receive reminder activity.
- Purchases. Apple processes App Store purchases and subscriptions; the app reads a verified entitlement from StoreKit to unlock Premium. Apple may give developers transaction and aggregated sales information under Apple’s own policies. It does not include a child’s voice or practice history.
What SpeechSeed does not collect
- No child or adult account, email address or login.
- No voice recordings, speech transcripts, profile details or practice history sent to us.
- No advertising identifiers, third-party analytics or behavioural tracking.
- No location, contacts, photos, camera data or cross-app tracking.
- No remote report generation, and no AI service that receives the child’s practice data.
Permissions
SpeechSeed asks for Microphone and Speech Recognition access so it can listen during a practice attempt. Notification permission is optional and used only for reminders a grown-up enables. You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Storage, deletion and retention
App content remains on the device for as long as the app or the relevant record remains there.
- Delete all saved practice clips in the grown-up area under Settings → Practice clips.
- Deleting SpeechSeed removes its local profiles, practice history and clips from the device.
- We cannot recover deleted local content, because there is no server copy.
- Copies a grown-up exported to Mail, Messages, Files or another service must be deleted from that destination separately.
Children’s privacy
SpeechSeed is designed for adult-guided speech practice. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children — or from anyone — because it does not transmit profile, practice or voice data to us. Purchases and external links are kept in the grown-up area.
This website and email
This website carries no advertising and no contact form, and its fonts, scripts and images are served from this same site. It does run one analytics tag, configured so that it sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device — what it collects and why is set out in full on our website privacy page. As with nearly every website, the hosting provider may process ordinary request information such as an IP address, browser type, requested URL and timestamp in order to deliver and secure the site. We do not use that information to build advertising profiles. If you email support, your email provider and ours process the address, message and attachments needed to correspond with you — please do not email a child’s recording or health information.
Service providers and legal requests
Apple provides App Store distribution, StoreKit purchases, on-device speech technology and optional notifications. A web-hosting provider delivers this website. We may disclose information we actually hold when legally required, but the app’s local voice and practice data are not available to us.
Changes and contact
If the app’s data handling changes, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy answers before representing the new behaviour as current. Questions? Email robin@kindabilities.com — please do not include a child’s voice recording or health information. See also Support and the Terms of Use.
