Terms of Use
Practice help, with clear limits. These terms govern SpeechSeed and its optional Apple-billed Premium.
Available on the App Store · last updated 2026-07-29.
1. Agreement and adult supervision
By downloading, purchasing or using SpeechSeed (the “App”), you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy, and Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. These product terms supplement Apple’s agreement; if they conflict, Apple’s Standard EULA controls. A parent, legal guardian or other responsible adult should supervise a child’s use and make any purchase decision.
2. Not medical care
The App provides general educational practice support. It does not diagnose, prevent, monitor or treat a speech, language, hearing, developmental or medical condition. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for evaluation or care by a qualified speech-language pathologist, audiologist, doctor or other professional. Do not delay professional advice because of an app result. In an emergency, use local emergency services.
3. What SpeechSeed provides
SpeechSeed provides adult-guided English speech-sound practice on iPhone and iPad, including sound programs, picture-cued practice words, local record-and-compare, progress summaries, and reports a grown-up may choose to share. At word, phrase and sentence levels, on-device recognition listens for the prompted word and known common slips; conversation cards ask the learner to use that word in a new sentence or question, and the app does not score the quality of the whole utterance. At sound and syllable levels the app detects a vocal attempt and relies on a grown-up’s judgment. Recognition can be wrong or uncertain, especially with children’s speech.
4. Free and Premium access
The free program does not expire. Premium opens the additional practice levels and session allowances described in the app. Features may evolve, but we will not describe a paid feature or trial as available unless the app can load it from Apple.
5. Purchases
SpeechSeed offers Apple-billed purchases. Apple displays the exact regional price, billing period and any introductory-trial eligibility before confirmation, and those purchase-screen terms control.
- Payment is charged to the Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, or after an eligible introductory trial shown by Apple.
- A subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and Apple may charge the renewal within 24 hours before that period ends.
- Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Restore purchases in the grown-up area without buying again.
- Family Sharing applies when Apple marks the purchased plan as shareable and the family’s Apple settings permit it.
Apple controls payment processing, cancellations and refunds. Refund requests can be made through Apple’s Report a Problem, subject to Apple’s rules and applicable consumer law.
6. Privacy and local content
The App keeps voice, profiles and practice data on the device and has no account, analytics, ads or audio uploads. Read the Privacy Policy for the full handling and deletion detail. You are responsible for choosing whether and where to share a generated report; after it is sent to another app, service or person, their terms and privacy practices apply.
7. Acceptable use and intellectual property
You may use the App for personal and family practice under Apple’s licence. You must not misuse it, interfere with its operation, evade purchase controls, use it unlawfully, or copy, redistribute, reverse-engineer or create derivative works except where applicable law expressly permits that activity. The App, its original illustrations, interface, writing, audio, software and branding are owned by or licensed to us and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the App reliable, but on-device recognition, StoreKit, sharing, notifications and other operating-system services can be unavailable or behave differently across devices and iOS versions. We may improve, repair, add or remove features. Material changes to these terms will be posted here with a new revision date.
9. Warranties and liability
The App is provided subject to the warranties, disclaimers and liability terms in Apple’s Standard EULA and any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, do not rely on an automated recognition result for a clinical, educational-placement, safety or medical decision: a grown-up and qualified professionals remain responsible for those decisions.
10. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content and is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce these terms as applicable.
